SAMSUNG SDI’s 50Amp High Power Cylindrical Battery Cell has been honored with the 2025 InterBattery Award. This battery is the first cylindrical battery to achieve the highest power output by incorporating a tabless design.

By integrating the tab and electrode into a tabless structure, SAMSUNG SDI has dramatically improved the current flow path, meeting the ultra-high power demands of the power tool market. Additionally, the battery adopts new electrode material, enabling a fast-charging time of just 15 minutes*. The use of Silicon-Carbon Nanocomposite (SCN) anode material further enhances battery lifespan.

The 50Amp high power cylindrical battery is expected to contribute significantly to the electrification of markets requiring ultra-high power equipment, such as construction sites.

SAMSUNG SDI began producing cylindrical batteries in the late 1990s and has successfully developed 18650 and 21700 along with 46-phi batteries more recently, gearing up for mass production for micro-mobility applications.
