[SDI Today] Sponsoring Scholarships to Tianjin School for the Visually Impaired for 21 Years! (TSDI)

SAMSUNG SDI’s small battery manufacturing subsidiary, TSDI hosted the “Scholarship Award Ceremony for the Tianjin School for the Visually Impaired(天津市视力障碍学校)”. The ceremony has already been held every year for the past 21 years. On the day of the ceremony, students, parents, and TSDI employees gathered to attend. TSDI representatives were present to award scholarships and gifts to the students on behalf of the company.

Founded on October 20, 1958, the Tianjin School for the Visually Impaired is a prestigious educational institution and the only special education school in Tianjin for visually impaired children and adolescents. Currently, about 150 students, ranging from first to ninth grade, are enrolled. SAMSUNG SDI awards scholarships to visually impaired students each year to provide them with educational opportunities.

After the scholarship award ceremony, a performance prepared by the students at Tianjin School for the Visually Impaired began. The performance consisted of a variety of songs, instrumental performances, poetry recitations, and dances. TSDI employees who attended in the ceremony expressed their gratitude for such a meaningful event. Pro Jing Zhang at TSDI) Reliability Evaluation Group said, “Through the student’s performance, I could feel their passion for life, which made me reflect on myself. The challenges that they face in their daily lives are beyond the imagination of people like me, but their determination and optimism taught us valuable lessons.”
